UT Lead's experiences & How what they have taught me this summer.

This summer being in UT Lead has given me a strong sense of what to expect in the fall. No matter if it pertains to school work, my teachers, the campus, or just how to carry yourself among your other classmates. UT Lead has given me the actual college experience to reference to in the fall. Everyone talks so much about what to do in the fall and how to do it but the most thankful thing is that UT Lead actually let me walk through first. I believe that this summers experience has taken half of my nerves away, so in the fall all I 'll really have nerves for is the campus in general. I no longer fear how hard the classes will be, how strict my teachers are going to be, and etc... The program really made it to wear if I do not make it in college it is solely my fault if I do not make it through college. The programs that I'v learned about while being here will further help me in all my future experiences from tutoring to meeting more financial needs.. .. . . .

Career Services

My past two days at career services cleared a lot of questions that I had. It literally spelled out all I could get out my major such as: average income, what I need to major, and job opportunities with that major. I learned about the S.T.E.P Model that will determine where I will go into college based on what's best for me as an individual. All together it gave us the tools, connections, websites, and tests to effectively choose what field that we should enter. Career services is the building to go to when you are trying to get a job straight out of high school. Also, for internships while in college. My top interests according to the test were: Office Management, Visual Arts & Design, Sales, Management, Enterprising, and Marketing & Advertising.

What stands out about college?

The biggest part of the transition into college is the food. I miss my momma's food so much... Presidential's cafeteria food is freaking horrible; if it was a word to describe it the closet word would be atrocious. Nevertheless, they keep trying but the food just get worst. I want to give them credit for effort but my bodies telling me no... but my mind is telling me yes.... lol. I have a little compassion bout their effort but the food still stink and it ain't good enough; so they receive an PH(F)! lol.
Excuse me if forgot to mention that Presidential is a cafeteria on the campus of The University of Tennessee. Truly all together it is not the typical thoughts that stand out the most about being in college. For instance, the subjects of making classes, learning the campus, and the actual work is not the big wager. The whole first week of college all I could think of was my stomach; it was confused from the switch to fast food daily from my regular home cooked meal. I couldn't tell whether I was super hungry or really starving. Matter of fact, for some time I thought I had a worm because I could eat a whole large pizza by myself and still feel like I had ate nothing all day.
